A romantic and whimsical beret pattern, perfect for the transition from winter to spring. The design includes a new and unique stitch, the Wisp Stitch, which creates an interesting and light, airy texture, similar to strands of mist reaching over a cold meadow.
TOOLS & MATERIALS
NEEDLES:
5 mm/ US 8 circular needle
3.75 mm circ needle
3 mm/US 2.5 circular needle (for ribbed band option only)
YARN:
Lace weight yarn in 2 colours; 2 strands held together
Lilac and yellow sample used
Veranita (79% Cashmere, 21% Silk; 330m/360yds per 25g) MC: UV – 290m/318yds/22g
CC: Butter Scotch – 93m/101yds/7g
NOTIONS:
Stitch markers Tapestry needle
SIZE
Adult - intended to be loosely knitted with an oversize fit.
GAUGE
10x10cm/4x4 inches = 20 sts x 30 rnds in stockinette with 2 strands held together in 3.75 needle Note: Gauge is approximate. The light, stretchy fabric is relatively adaptable and accommodating.
